History and location

This beautiful place, known as “Heaven on Earth,” is located in the long way north of Pakistan. Hunza Valley is positioned at a distance of one ─ hundred kilometers from the Gilgit area, simply south-southwest of the China border and southeast of the Afghan Wakhan Corridor.

The valley is flanked through a few spectacular peaks higher than 6,000 meters, including Rakaposhi, Hunza Peak, Passu Peak, and Bublimotin (also known as Ladyfinger Peak), Diran Peak.

In the early 1890s, the British embarked upon a mission to occupy Hunza and Nagar, also known as the Hunza-Nagar Campaign. British soldiers led with the aid of Colonel Durand occupied Nilt Fort. 

After that, they proceeded to the Baltit Fort, however, confronted massive resistance. The British received full control of Hunza and Nagar with little effort. Most of the residents of the Hunza valley are Ismaili Shia Muslims. Many of these Ismaili Shia people are honest skinned and retrace their ancestors to Central Asian nations such as Tajikistan to the north.

 The Lower Hunza Valley is home mainly to the Shinkai human beings who talk Shina, while the Central Hunza Valley is broadly speaking inhabited by the Burushaski speakers. The Upper Valley (referred to as the Gojal Valley) are the Wakhi and Burusho language speakers. Most of these humans are amiable and loving.
